Why should I train at KSSM?
KSSM is a professionally focussed school that ensures you are work ready to the highest standard.
At KSSM you will receive intensive tuition from top industry professionals, whose expertise will expose you to meticulous skills in both technical and creative aspects and provide you with ‘real world’ knowledge. Kristen Stewart personally teaches the students, and the course has been designed to ensure plenty of one-on-one tutor to student focus.
What are the course entry requirements?
KSSM courses do not require any previous experience or training. All students need to bring with them is an enthusiasm to learn. Students need to be aged 18 years or over.
Is the KSSM Diploma of Make-up Artistry NZQA accredited?
The KSSM Diploma of Make-up Artistry is not NZQA accredited at this stage, but is a private industry recognised course based on industry standard skills, application and knowledge. Students will be provided with industry contacts and guidance with 'real-world' experience.
KSSM short courses are also not NZQA accredited.
What do I receive on completion of the course?
On completion of the KSSM Diploma of Make-up Artistry course every student receives an industry recognised Diploma of Make-up Artistry. Depending on their level of ability, students can be awarded varying levels of distinction. Students are given the chance to let their skills shine at the end of the course, with participation in a studio based photo shoot.
Graduates will take away a Diploma of Make-up Artistry certificate and their professional make-up and hair kits.
On completion of a KSSM short course, students are also awarded with a certificate.
What are my employment prospects?
The KSSM Diploma of Make-up Artistry is an industry recognised course and students will see opportunities open up in fields such as - photo shoots, magazines, music videos, fashion shows, films, commercials, advertising, television, weddings, freelance and make-up counter work.
Success is up to the individual, but equipped with professional work standards, technical skills, fresh thinking and a good attitude, graduates can earn a reputation that allows them to go far.
What does the course fee include?
All KSSM course fees include the use of fully equipped work stations, use of the extensive school make-up kit and also the school hair kit. The school is also equipped with hair dryers and GHD styling irons for student use.
On commencement of the Diploma of Make-up Artistry course, students are provided with their own basic make-up kit supplied by M.A.C (case is not included). This has everything students need to get started. Students also receive their own hair kit that includes a mixture of styling products supplied by Mod’s Hair, and a range of other styling tools supplied independently.
These kits are used by students in class, and can be taken with you when you graduate.
Can I get a student loan?
At this stage, as KSSM course are not NZQA accredited, you are not able to get a student loan. However, we are looking into this and alternative options. You may also talk to us about payment plans.
What are the enrollment procedures?
To enrol in the KSSM Diploma of Make-up Artistry course just fill out an application form online or post in the Diploma of Make-up Artistry application form from your Info Pack. On acceptance, a $500 nonrefundable deposit is to be paid to ensure your placement. It is best to enrol as soon as you can, as spaces are limited.
